Missions

Various mission groups are active at St. Luke’s and meet on a regular basis. You are invited to attend these special activities.

Strategic Ministry Plan – establishing a vision for our future 2013 and beyond.

LWML – The purpose of Lutheran Women’s Missions League is to equip women for mission and ministry through education, inspiration and service. LWML Guild meets the 2nd Monday of February, April, September, November and December.

Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) and is aired on WIBW AM at 7:30 AM on Sundays in the Manhattan, KS area.  The Lutheran Laymen’s League (LLL) is active in the District and Zone, and sponsors the Lutheran Hour Ministries.

Mission of Love – This is a volunteer group which meets the 2nd Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in the fellowship hall to sew and tie quilts and lap robes for nursing homes and relief projects.

CCCS – Children’s Christian Concern Society is a Lutheran Mission sharing the love of Jesus with children around the world through Christian education. CCCS supports over 13,700 children in 17 countries.

Orphan Grain Train – OGT is in partnership with LLL and encourages and enables people to share personal and material resources to needy people near and far. OGT uses a volunteer network to collect donations of clothing, medical supplies, food, Christian literature and other items in response to the needs of people around the world. Headquarters are in Norfolk, NE.

International Student Ministry – This is an organization that privides support to students in the area through various programs. For additional information email dogwood.angues@gmail.com

Family Shield Ministries – Family Shield Ministries is an innovative-collaborative leader in family ministry and evangelism. Working in partnership with The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod and other Gospel- oriented Christian organizations, it will impact the world for Christ and transform lives in time for eternity.
